We want your feedback on our draft Shared Decision Making Report and Recommendations<\/a> and Palliative Care Report and Recommendations<\/a>. For both drafts, feedback must be received by 5pm\u00a0Friday, October 18th<\/sup><\/strong><\/em>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Shared Decision Making<\/strong><\/p>\n Read our Shared Decision Making Report and Recommendations<\/a><\/p>\n Take the survey<\/a><\/p>\n Shared decision making is a key component of patient-centered care, defined by the Washington State Health Care Authority as \u201ca process that allows patients and their providers to make health care decisions together, taking into account the best scientific evidence available, as well as the patient\u2019s values and preferences<\/em>.\u201d Our goal is statewide movement toward greater use of shared decision making in clinical practice at a care delivery site and organizational level framed through four focus areas:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Palliative Care Take the survey<\/a><\/p>\n People with serious or advanced illness often experience increases in symptoms coupled with a decrease in function. Traditional life-prolonging or curative care often does not meet a person\u2019s range of needs as illness progresses.
