Regulatory Readiness: CRP and the Patient Safety Structural Measure

Communication and Resolution Programs (CRP) has gained national recognition from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as a best practice for patient safety after adverse events. The Patient Safety Structural Measure (PSSM) was implemented October 1, 2024 for hospitals participating in the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting program as an attestation-based model that indicates if organizations are prioritizing patient and provider safety. This webinar will provide an in-depth look into the role CRP plays in the PSSM, the current national landscape of CRPs, and other key CRP developments, challenges, and opportunities.

Errors, Emotions, and Ethics: CRP and Caring for the Caregiver

When medical errors or adverse events occur, the mental health impact on healthcare professionals can be profound. This webinar will explore how providing timely mental health support to clinicians is not only a moral imperative, but also a critical component of high-functioning Communication and Resolution Programs (CRPs). In this webinar, attendees will learn about best practices uncovered by the University of Missouri’s forYOU program, a nationally recognized provider peer support program. This webinar will also examine the organizational benefits of supporting healthcare providers through trauma-informed peer support, debriefings, confidential resources, and how these efforts align with the CRP principles of transparency and accountability.
