Member Resources

COAP provides the following resources to help our member hospitals capture and analyze cardiac data, and supports collaborative efforts to share best practices across the region. Follow the links to learn more.

Regional Meeting Recordings

Since January 2021, COAP has recorded all regional quarterly meetings (with the exception of patient case reviews) to sustain shared learning across the region. We encourage you to revisit these recordings when a refresher is needed and share them with colleagues. Viewers of these recordings are eligible to earn CME/CNE credits. After viewing the full recording, please follow the associated link to complete a survey and then email Jeannie Collins-Brandon, COAP Program Director, to receive a certificate.

Data Manager Support

COAP coordinates the STS Northwest Regional Data Manager Group for the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. We host monthly support calls to provide education, abstract difficult records, review changes to the registry, and answer your questions. Melinda Offer, RN, is the educational lead for this group. She is an STS Core Member and answers coding questions at the national level for the STS. Real-time coding support is also provided via email.

COAP hosts support calls for PCI abstraction every other month, led by Karen Young, RN, long-time CathPCI abstractor in Washington State. Karen provides abstraction education and complex record review, updates you with the latest news from the ACC’s NCDR (American College of Cardiology’s National Cardiac Data Registry), and answers your coding questions. Karen’s calls are aligned with NCDR’s bimonthly calls so that abstractors have monthly support opportunities. Real-time coding support is also provided via email, phone, or screen-sharing.

ARMUS Resources

ARMUS is the data partner for all Foundation for Health Care Quality clinical programs. They provide a full suite of data entry and reporting services, along with training in using their tools. Please contact Jeannie to learn more about accessing these tools and resources for cardiac data.
